Harassment is a serious concern in Canadian workplaces: according to StatsCan, nearly 20% of Canadian women and 13% of men reported being harassed at work in 2016. Yet at the same time, we often see the word harassment being unfairly thrown around to criticize necessary management actions. In this informative and interactive session, led by an employment lawyer who is also a workplace harassment investigator and trainer, you will learn to distinguish what is (and is not) harassment, and what to do when it happens in your workplace.

His legal practice focuses on giving proactive strategic advice that helps employers to resolve conflict and avoid legal disputes. Brian regularly advises employers on employee terminations and severance packages, avoiding constructive dismissal, employment standards compliance, human rights and accommodation, disability management, and labour relations. He also conducts workplace harassment investigations.
Brian is an accomplished corporate trainer with experience training managers, supervisors and human resource professionals on topics such as harassment awareness, effective performance management, conducting workplace investigations, and meeting the duty to accommodate. He is a frequent instructor for continuing professional development courses offered though the HRPA, as well as for private clients in both the public and private sectors.
Robert is a co-founder and partner with Morris Kepes Winters LLP, one of Canada’s largest cross-border tax boutique law firms. MKW was recently voted one of Canada’s Top Ten Tax Boutiques by Canadian Lawyer magazine.
Robert graduated from McGill University Law School (B.C.L., LL.B.) and has been a tax lawyer for 30 years. Robert provides advice regarding Canadian tax and estate planning; and tax litigation and representation with respect to CRA audits and appeals. A large portion of Robert’s practice includes private owner-managed companies, entrepreneurs, professionals, and high net worth individuals, both foreign and domestic.
Robert was the Chair of the Ontario Bar Association Tax Section Executive (2012 – 2013).
Robert is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, The Advocate’s Society, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Estate Planning Council of Toronto, the Canadian Tax Foundation, and the Canadian Bar Association.
Igor Klibanov is the author of 4 books on fitness, the most recent of which is STOP EXERCISING! The Way You Are Doing it Now. He is also the CEO of one of Toronto's premier personal training companies, Fitness Solutions Plus. Together with his team of fitness professionals, he specializes in helping busy professionals improve their fitness, energy levels, and health.
In the past, Igor has been hired to run fitness seminars for IBM, RBC, the Toronto Lawyers Association, Professional Engineers of Ontario, and others.

Jean-Pierre is by training a pension lawyer specializing in employee benefits and retirement plans. Until July 2012 he practiced out of the Toronto office of Bennett Jones LLP, a leading Canadian business law firm. He was then appointed Chief Executive Officer of INTEGRIS Pension Management Corp., a provider of pension plans to incorporated professionals and small business owners.
Jean-Pierre has written a number of journal articles on pension reform and pension administration, including the seminal concept paper on the Supplemental Canada Pension Plan published in 2004 by Benefits and Pensions Monitor, his idea having been advocated by provincial governments, thought-leaders and industry groups. Jean-Pierre also drafted a private member’s bill in the Parliament of Canada that focused the federal government on adopting legislation to protect long-term disabled workers operating in federal employment. His most recent publication in the Canadian Tax Journal is entitled “A Review of Individual Pension Plans”.
He has often appeared as an expert witness before Standing Committees of the House of Commons.
For his efforts at improving pension security for Canadians, Jean-Pierre was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal by His Excellency the Governor-General of Canada.
Allan Madonik, founder of Blue SWAN Financial, is an insurance broker serving Toronto and the GTA. With his dedicated team, he helps his clients Sleep Well At Night,no matter what their business or family needs.
He volunteers and serves charitable organizations like Ve’ahavta helping individuals stricken by homelessness and poverty, and is a member of both the Canadian Association of Gift Planners as well as the Mississauga Board of Trade

This honour is achieved by less than one percent of the four million individuals who have joined the largest non-for-profit communication and leadership organization in the world. Originally from London, Ontario, Adam grew up at the hockey rink and on the golf course. He had the unique experience of playing junior hockey for the Strathroy Rockets and the Elmira Sugar Kings. Like most recreational golfers, Adam is still finessing his golf game and finds that his early season rounds are usually his best of the year.
When he’s not managing portfolios, you’ll find Adam at home with his wife Katherine, young daughter Victoria and newborn William, along with a constant stream of daily visitors, a requirement of marrying into a Portuguese family. Adam and his family are residents of the Port Credit Neighbourhood of Mineola and take full advantage of the Port Credit community's beautiful lakefront, marina, many parks and downtown.
