Intensive Personal Tax Review
Are you considering a career move into public practice? Or, are you thinking of supplementing your income by taking on a few personal tax clients?
This course focuses on personal tax topics and the tax return preparation process by taking you through actual T1 returns and mini case studies that will cover a wide scope of personal tax issues you will most commonly encounter in a tax practice.
21 Jan 2020, 8:30 AM
3.5 CPD hours
The course will be developed and delivered with the following approach:
An overview of important tax concepts by applying them to actual case situations so you can follow through a return from beginning to end and know exactly what forms need to be filed and focused on.
A close look at the most frequently made errors on tax returns and how to avoid them so that you can avoid CRA reassessments after a return is filed.
Most commonly asked questions by new practitioners and how to address them.
Examples of T1 returns that will outline new and ongoing CRA review, audit and tax initiatives so that you will know what will raise flags with the CRA once a personal return is filed. This will enable you to be proactive and address tax issues so they don’t become a problem with CRA
Once you have completed this session, you will have a solid foundation and understanding of tax matters as they relate to the majority of tax returns and issues you will encounter in practice.
Prerequisite – You should have a good understanding of personal tax as this course will not review the basic or general tax concepts and rules, but rather focus on their application to real world client scenarios and problem areas.
